Team
Hydrotechnica director Alex Gallagher leads a small team of technical experts with strong backgrounds in research, consultancy and global operations.
Alex Gallagher is a chartered geologist and water management specialist with an MSc in Hydrogeology and 20 years experience. Alex held a number of senior positions in engineering consultancies before establishing Hydrotechnica in 2020.

Hydrotechnica Ltd is a specialist hydrology and water management consultancy serving the global mining industry, with particular depth across Sub-Saharan Africa. This statement sets out the steps we take to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or our supply chain.
Our Organisation
Hydrotechnica is a small, specialist consultancy, delivering technical water management services through a core in-house team supported by a curated network of associate specialists engaged on a project-by-project basis.
Our Commitment
Hydrotechnica has zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, and child labour, both within our own business and in our supply chain. Although Hydrotechnica is below the annual turnover threshold that requires a statutory Modern Slavery Statement under the Act, we choose to publish this statement voluntarily and to align our practices with its principles.
Due Diligence and Risk Management
Our small, closely managed team and associate network gives us direct, ongoing visibility of our own operations. All associates and sub-consultants engaged by Hydrotechnica are required to comply with our anti-slavery standards as a condition of engagement. Employee age and right-to-work status are verified as part of our standard UK employment checks. We are not aware of any instances of modern slavery, forced labour, or child labour in our business or supply chain.
Our Policies
This statement is supported by our Forced Labour and Child Labour Policy, Human Rights Policy, and Grievance Policy, copies of which are available on request.
Awareness
Given the size of our team, awareness of this statement and our related policies is maintained directly by the Director with all employees and associates, rather than through a formal training programme.
